How are the bugs where you live? Are you finding yourself getting eaten by pesky mosquitoes and new to me this year, those nasty no see em bugs? We’ve found ourselves with more bug bites this year than any other year.
So while I’m clearly aware I may be a bit late to the party in sharing this with you all being that our summer days are numbered, I felt like it needed to find home here because it’s something we use nearly every day to keep our skin free from bites and late night itching.
This recipe contains all natural products, folks. In fact, one of the ingredients, a secret weapon that really keeps those bugs at bay, and can be found in your pantry!
After a little bit of tinkering with blends, I think we found one that works. At least it has been for us. Less bites. Less interruption during the night. We’ve been pretty happy with this blend.

DIY Bug Spray
Prep Time: 5 minutes
This recipe was created using a 4 oz spray bottle
Ingredients
lemongrass essential oil
citronella essential oil
geranium essential oil
clove or tea tree essential oil
witch hazel
vanilla
purified water
Instructions
Take a 4 oz spray bottle and fill half with purified water. Add 5-10 drops of the essential oils listed above. Add 1 tablespoon witch hazel + 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Top the bottle of with more purified water. Spray as needed!
